What Is The EEHS School?

The 2017 North Carolina Environmental, Energy, Health & Safety (EEHS) School (16th Annual) is a unique forum for environmental, health and safety (EHS) professionals to obtain individualized information about the latest issues affecting their businesses in North Carolina.

Attendee Registration

The EEHS School is unique because at a single location we will offer 24 individual courses over two days. This year we are offering eight sessions with three concurrent courses in each session. Each course will last 1 hour and cover current topics in air quality, water quality, solid and hazardous waste, occupational safety and health, energy, and sustainability.

Over 30 recognized experts on complying with North Carolina's environmental, energy, health and safety laws and regulations will be teaching the 24 classroom sessions. The presenters will be from both the public and private sectors and will include regulators, attorneys, consultants and industry representatives with hands-on experience.

During the school, attendees personalize their schedule by choosing any combination of eight classroom courses to attend from the list of 24 courses being offered. This unique training format allows each attendee the flexibility to select a schedule tailored to his or her current interests and needs. Continuing education credits are available.

The school format is also ideal for attendees responsible for compliance with several EEHS laws or regulations or those simply seeking cross-training on an unfamiliar EEHS issue.

In addition to the eight concurrent classroom sessions, the school will include a first day luncheon with guest speaker on Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, a reception Monday evening, continental breakfast on Tuesday, Aug. 8, and a closing luncheon on Tuesday, August 8. The School concludes at 1:30 PM.

Our speaker at the first day luncheon will be Michael S. Regan, Secretary of the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality.

Our speaker at the clopsing luncheon on August 8 will be Mr. Dax Prather. How safe is your data? Your personal information? Your money? We do so much on electronic devices these days – banking and retail purchases on phones, buying and selling on social media. Are you safe? Mr. Prather will cover the basic cybersecurity issues that everyone should be aware of, including password recommendations, phishing, malware, two-step authentication, and other security tips and tricks. Join Security instructor Dax Prather for this interactive and eyepopping experience.

This year, for attendees who would like additional course work after the closing luncheon, we will be offering three courses in an OPTIONAL “After School” Session from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on Tuesday, Aug. 8.

Between classes the attendees can visit the Exhibition Hall featuring leading vendors offering a full range of EEHS products and services to check out and compare.
