Join the North Carolina Manufacturers Alliance (NCMA) and the North Carolina Division of Waste Management (DWM) on Thursday, Feb.22, 2018, for a special half-day workshop focusing on North Carolina’s implementation of the new Hazardous Waste Generator Improvement Rule.

The provisions of the new Hazardous Waste Generator Improvements Rule will be effective in North Carolina on March 1, 2018.  This workshop will provide specific information about the revisions and new provisions that will affect all categories of hazardous waste generators in North Carolina.

Topics covered will include waste determination, generator category determination, emergency preparedness and prevention requirements, labeling/marking, and notification as well as large quantity generator specific requirements for contingency plan, Quick Reference Guide and new closure requirements.

Attention will also be given to three new options:  the consolidation provision, the episodic generator provision and the 50-foot waiver provision.

Hazardous Waste Section personnel will present this timely and relevant information and answer questions.  Examples and guidance documents will be provided to assist with making updates at your facility.

The Workshop will include refreshments, but lunch will not be provided.
