Biden Names Michael Regan for EPA Administrator

Several news sources are reporting that President-elect Joe Biden will nominate Michael Regan, Secretary, NC Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) to be administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
Politico calls it "a major nod to the party's progressive wing." North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper said that Regan was "a consensus builder and a fierce protector of the environment.
Michael Regan has been Secretary for the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) since 2017 under Governor Roy Cooper's first administration. Prior to leading DEQ, Regan was Associate Vice President of U.S. Climate and Energy and Southeast Regional Director of the Environmental Defense Fund. Earlier, Regan worked with EPA's air quality and energy programs under Clinton and Bush administrations.
