EPA Appoints New Members to the Science Advisory Board

On January 31, 2019, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Acting Administrator Andrew Wheeler announced appointments to the Science Advisory Board (SAB) and four subcommittees including; the Agricultural Science Committee (ASC), the Chemical Assessment Advisory Committee (CAAC), the Drinking Water Committee (DWC), and the Radiation Advisory Committee (RAC).

New members include experts from a wide variety of scientific disciplines selected from hundreds of qualified nominees who reflect geographic diversity from all ten EPA regions. Three appointments are from North Carolina.

Dr. Wiesner is an new appointment to the SAB and also named to chair the Drinking Water Committee

Michael Paul Sherman, State Legislative Director at North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation
Mr. Sherman has been appointed to the Agricultural Science Committee.

Harvey Clewell, Principal Consultant at Ramboll, Research Triangle Park
Dr. Clewell has been appointed to the Chemical Assessment Advisory Committee.
