Modified Stay at Home Order for NC Extended

On January 27, 2021 Governor Cooper and Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Mandy Cohen announced Executive Order (EO) 189 extending the current modified stay at home order (EO 181) that was put in place in December of 2020.  EO 189 is effective through February 28, 2021 at 5:00pm

EO 189 does not modify any of the major conditions that apply to manufacturers in the workplace such as wearing face coverings when less than six feet apart or indoors unless one of the exceptions apply. All conditions and applicable exceptions detailed in EO 181 are still in place.

The order extends the requirement to close certain businesses and facilities to the public between 10:00pm and 5:00am, (night-time public closure period). All individuals in North Carolina must stay at home or the place they will remain for the night between 10:00pm and 5:00am (stay at home period) unless an exception applies. Individuals may leave home for travel to or from work and travel for work purposes. Individuals do not need to show documentation when outside of home during the stay at home period.
