Modified Stay at Home Order in Place for North Carolina

On December 8, 2020 Governor Cooper and Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Mandy Cohen announced Executive Order (EO) 181 to slow the spread of COVID-19 in response to key metrics that are rapidly increasing in North Carolina. EO181 is a Modified Stay at Home Order for North Carolinians effective Friday, December 11 at 5:00pm through January 8, 2021 at 5:00pm.

The order does not change the major conditions that apply to manufacturers in the workplace. Those conditions and applicable exemptions are still in place.

The order does close certain businesses and facilities to the public between 10:00pm and 5:00am, (night-time public closure period). All individuals in North Carolina must stay at home or the place they will remain for the night between 10:00pm and 5:00am (stay at home period) unless an exception applies. Individuals may leave home for travel to or from work and travel for work purposes. Individuals do not need to show documentation when outside of home during the stay at home period.
