NC Legislature to Investigate Atlantic Coast Pipeline Agreement

AP News and WRAL.COM are reporting that the North Carolina Legislature is hiring an investigator to examine Governor Roy Cooper's agreement with Atlantic Coast Pipeline energy partners. The agreement negotiated a $58 Million fund that was announced on the same day the Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) approved a permit critical to advancing the project. The legislature has concerns about whether the money influenced permit decisions and how it may have made pipeline partners feel pressured to pay.
